Events and Programs - 2009 Teacher Workshop Schedule

Summary

Secretary of State Charlie Daniels is pleased to announce the availability of a ADE approved 4 hour teacher workshop that provides an overview of the educational materials and resources available from the Secretary of State's office, including voter education curriculum for K- 12 grades, Arkansas Frameworks specific civics curriculum for K - 8, programs for all grade levels, and a teacher information CD with downloadable PDF files of Secretary of State education publications.

Subjects: History, civics/government, American History

In-Service Credit Hours: 4 hours

Meets two hour Arkansas History credit requirement.

Topic: Using the State Capitol to Teach

Learn about the Arkansas State Capitol and the FREE resources available to you from the Secretary of State's office. Agenda includes How to Make the Most of Your Capitol Field Trip; Beyond State Symbol Activity Books: An Overview of Programs, Materials, and Specialized Tours; and The Best On-Line Resources for Arkansas History, Civics and Government.

Materials will be distributed from the Secretary of State's office.
Workshop is FREE to all teachers/administrators.
